Managing waste effectively is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Wilkie. Our town provides comprehensive garbage and recycling services to ensure that all residents can easily dispose of waste responsibly.

Transfer Station

The Wilkie Transfer Station is open to residents for waste disposal. Only cash and cheque are accepted at the Transfer Station

Hours of Operation:

• December to March - Winter Hours
• Thursdays 11:00-4:00
• Saturdays 11:00-4:00

• April to November - Summer Hours
• Tuesdays 11:00-4:00
• Thursdays 11:00-6:30
• Saturdays 11:00-4:00

• All Holidays: Closed

Garbage & Recycling Pickup Services

Each residence in the community has been provided one waste container and one recycling container from Loraas Environmental Services. Pick up of these bins alternate every Tuesday, a calendar showing the pick up shedule is available at the Town Office or a link is provided below. All garbage must still be bagged before it is deposited into the waste bin. For complete details regarding these programs please see the links below or stop by the Town Office for a pamphlet.

Seasonal Compost Service

Each reisdence was provided a green bin from Loraas Environmental Services in August of 2024.  The pick-up day is the same as the recycling bins during the months of May through October. 

Compost bins can be used for fruit & vegetable waste and plant waste such as leaves, grass clipings and small branches or twigs.

Please be sure your bins are minimum of four feet apart when they are put on the street for pick-up.
