The Wilkie Cemetery is a serene and respectful resting place, located just 1/4 mile north of town on Highway 29. Managed by the Town of Wilkie, the cemetery upholds a set of rules and regulations to ensure that it remains a dignified and well-maintained environment for visitors and families alike.
Current Policy:
Costs for cemetery plot in Divisions 1A, 1, 2 & 3 are $500.00 per 4' x 10' plot and $600.00 per 4' x 10' plot in Divisions 4 & 5.
The Town of Wilkie charges the following rates for opening/closing plots:
May 01 - October 31 Full size interment $500.00 - Cremains interment (24" down) $200.00.
November 01 - April 30 Full size interment $750.00 - Cremains interment $400.00.
NOTE: An additional $150.00 is charged if the funeral is scheduled in a manner that will result in overtime being paid to Town Staff - i.e. Statutory holidays.
Additionally, there are no workers on Saturdays from October 1 - April 30.

Cemetery Rules and Regulations
The following rules and regulations are in place to maintain the cemetery’s orderliness and respect for those interred:
- A plan of the cemetery showing all grave locations is available for inspection at the Town Office, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Relatives are responsible for the upkeep of graves. If a grave is neglected, the Town will manage its maintenance and bill the closest relative for any expenses incurred.
- No grave covers, borders of cement, wood, etc. are permitted. Only grass is allowed as a cover. Headstones, flowers, and markers may only be placed on the top three feet of the gravesite.
- Any items placed on the gravesite, other than headstones, flowers, and markers, are at the family's own risk. The Wilkie & District Cemetery Committee and the Town of Wilkie are not responsible for damage due to maintenance or vandalism.
- Items that hinder general maintenance will be removed by the Committee, and the family will be notified to pick up the item.
- Headstones may be a maximum of 30 inches in height from the cement foundation.
- During funerals, vehicles should park only in designated parking areas.
- Temporary nameplates must be placed on every new grave immediately after the grave is closed.
- No more than two plots (double) may be sold to any one person without special permission from the Cemetery Committee.
- A maximum of three cremains are allowed in one plot, as per Provincial legislation.
- A permit from the Wilkie Town Office is required before any work is done at the cemetery, including the installation of headstones.
- Breaches of these rules may result in a fine of up to $2000.00.
